Hell Yeah!
Final part of service on this Ampeg SVT 3 Pro @shroprockdoctor.
The amplifier was producing distortion throughout its volume range indicative of tube failure. Utilising the rear pre_out & power amp in it was established that the fault lay with the power amplifier. After ruling out the 12au7 & 12ax7 thar reside pre solid state power & checking all transistors for failure we arrived at incorrectly biased transistors. Google informs me that this is a common issue with this Ampeg model that is addressed via the 10k ohm trimmer to achieve 25mV across each of the 8 power resistors. An average had to be set. Output is now distortion free.
