Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster FMT HSS @shrop.rock.doctor for initially a replacement of the S1 switching potentiometer but following the removal of the rear plate it soon became apparent that a total rewire was essential. Don’t know exactly what has gone on previously in the back of this guitar but it appears to have had a partial rewire using strands of cat5 wire using a soldering iron that wasn’t switched on.
Fenders website provides excellent documentation for this type of repair but obtaining that elusive S1 pot with solid shafts in the UK is proving to be a PIA.
