Takamine acoustic that came in with no output from the on board preamp underwent a strip out of the complete electrical system to give all component parts a visual check.
A quick search online reveals that the preamp failure in these models is very common, the root cause being failed electrolytic capacitors, most of which are SMD & 5 of which are located between the linear sliders.
All old caps now removed & awaiting 0.47uf 35v caps delivery as I have run out.
