So the Takamine acoustic has had a good clean, restring with a set of Martin light gauge & the non functioning preamp /on board tuner is now working. This guitar definitely gets the award for the most difficult clean I have ever undertaken. Still retains some patina where finger contact has worn through the finish & heavy fretting has impacted the fingerboard over the first few frets but nothing major. Plays & sounds excellent.
