Power issue on Yamaha keyboard is resolved, root cause being failed soldering on the power socket pins. Reflowed & reinstalled board then added a little hot melt glue creating a bond between the socket & casing so taking all the mechanical strain off the socket pins when plugging /unplugging the power. A squirt of freeze spray will allow quick release of the glue for any future requirement for board removal.
Disassembly revealed that several of the moulded bosses were broken off explaining why the top casing was loose. More hot melt resolved this.
