Laney GH50L 50w master volume head brought in with a complaint of drastically reduced output & even though the owner had installed a brand new pair of JJ EL34s the issue wasn’t resolved & had noticed the heater filament in the second tube was not glowing.
Removing the chassis & checking voltage at the rear of the socket proved power was getting that far. By bending the contacts in the front of the octal base the tube heater powered up. It was decided that the sockets both be replaced & upgraded to ceramic too.
