Addressing the electrical issue with Mr Wards Les Paul. Newly acquired & brought into Shroprockdoctor with a complaint that ‘something doesn’t sound right ‘. I was also informed that it had been wired 50s style.
Using either pickup independently revealed no issues but toggle centre & move the neck volume control & the weirdness revealed itself.
To resolve the issue I moved the pickup hot wires & switch hot wires to the correct tabs on the potentiometers so that the tone capacitors (new PIO from Six String Supplies – not fitted by me) connect to the pot wiper together with the toggle switch hot & the pickup hot on its own connected to the non grounded end of the resistive track.

Everything is now sounding as it should.
