EVH Stratocaster @shroprockdoctor now has a genuine Floyd Rose locking nut installed on the Fender neck as opposed to the bone nut recently installed. The Floyd has been setup floating as requested by the customer & with the addition of the locking nut tuning stability is solid.
Lack of material behind the original nut means that there is a small amount of overhang at the rear of the big fat locking Floyd R2 nut but the customer is willing to forgo this purely aesthetic issue in return for the additional stability.
More time allowing a small cosmetic strip could be inset beneath the rear of the nut to appear more pleasing to the eye.
