Electrical service on the Ibanez GWB35 ( Gary Willis signature ) fretless 5 string. The reported intermittent output would appear to be the result of a worn barrel jack socket. Bending the contacts to improve plug contact appears to have resolved the issue but insertion of a jack still doesn’t feel positive enough to guarantee reliability so a replacement has been ordered.
A red wire in the control cavity appears to have been spliced together & taped but to play safe this joint was cut out, re-soldered & heat shrink applied.
Pots appeared satisfactory other than some crackle which was quickly remedied with switch cleaner.
Just awaiting delivery of the socket.
