Behringer DCX2496 speaker management unit that had intermittent noise across all outputs irrelevant of the status of the output mute control buttons.
I had previously read about this particular problem on forums with all kinds of conclusions and solutions.
The fault in fact lay with the ribbon connector cable from the rear panel socket pcb to the main pcb.
The issue presents as an intermittent static noise for want of a better description that builds to a head & ends with a pop through the speakers & cycles add infinitum irrelevant of the status of the mutes.
Time permitting a favourable solution would be to hardwire the boards totally omitting the ribbon cables & the requirement for hot melt glue we find so often in these units.
