Been working on this Jazz Bass relic @shrop.rock.doctor. Had to mate the body & neck from different guitars which turned out not to be so simple. The replacement neck heel was approximately 5mm thicker from the rear of the heel to the crest of the fingerboard radius so the strings had zero clearance even with the bridge saddles fully adjusted. Rather than routing out the body pocket I opted to reduce the heel making it the size of the the original neck heel. The resulting fit was actually better than the original post machining. All screw holes were plugged & re-established resulting in more secure machine heads & heel attachment, string to neck & pickup poles alignment came out good.
