Back @shroprockdoctor is Mr McCreadie’s ’78 Gibson Les Paul Custom for attention to the three way toggle switch which was chemically cleaned when serviced but unfortunately is still intermittent.
While testing the guitar after the switch repair I noticed that the two tone controls were extremely ineffective.
Turned out the ceramic caps weren’t working properly. Looking through my collection of vintage caps I came across these tropical fish type. I had already tried some 22nf mustard & they were just not right to my ears. Tried some other 47nf but opted for the tropicals as they work great.
