@shroprockdoctor guide to grounding your strings on a Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge setup.
In addition to the service requested by the owner of the ’78 Gibson custom it was asked if a ground could be added to the setup to address the amplified guitars noise issue when the strings were not in contact with the players hand.
The obvious place to gain access to the control cavity from the guitars face & taking the shortest route through the body is via the lower stop bar bushing hole. The most difficult part of these mod is drawing out the bushing without marking the body. So a home made extractor was made with a 24 thread UNF bolt. The images tell the story.
