Samson Rubicon R5a monitors @shroprockdoctor for an issue with the internal amplifier of one unit. Upon inspection post repair of the first unit the exact same issue was discovered in the second unit. The below images show an electrolytic capacitor 220uf 25v on the amplifier pcb had gone into self destruction. In the first one opened the casing had completely blown off & in the second the base of the capacitor was exposed & obviously void of electrolyte. Replacement components used were 220uf 35v 105 degrees. 2 hour soak tested at a moderate volume & now ready for return to the owner.
